A battery, a solar array and a CHP unit each have their own best move every hour. The Automixer stops scheduling them in isolation and solves them as one problem — a single dispatch plan that co-optimises BESS, PV and BHKW/CHP across day-ahead, intraday and grid services at the same time.
The mechanics of multi-asset co-optimization — and where the real edge lies.
Optimising each asset on its own leaves money on the table: the battery may discharge into an hour the CHP could have covered for less. A single joint plan weighs every asset against the same prices and the same constraints, so the cheapest source always serves each hour.
Solar sets when storage should fill, the battery shifts surplus into expensive hours, and the BHKW/CHP fills the gaps that neither can — with its heat demand respected. Co-optimising all three on one site captures value that per-asset control simply cannot see.
The same megawatt can earn in more than one market. The Automixer allocates capacity across the day-ahead auction, intraday trading and grid-support products at once — and re-plans as forecasts and prices move toward delivery.
Grid connection limits, SLA obligations, battery state-of-charge and degradation budgets are not handled afterwards — they live inside the optimisation. The plan that comes out is already feasible and already inside the limits.
Real sites rarely run one brand. The Automixer drives a heterogeneous fleet — different inverters, batteries and CHP controllers — at register level, so the optimal mix is computed once and dispatched everywhere, whoever built the hardware.
Multi-asset co-optimization is not unique to us — Wärtsilä GEMS, GridBeyond and Fluence do it too. Our edge is the combination: vendor-agnostic register-level control plus a BHKW/CHP-inclusive single-site joint plan. We don't claim to be the only ones who co-optimise.
The Automixer produces the joint plan; the BESS Optimizer turns it into charge/discharge set-points on real hardware, and the Charge Director coordinates the moving parts — vendor-agnostic, within grid and SLA limits.
Tell us what you run — batteries, solar, CHP — and we'll show you what one combined plan looks like on your site.
